Doug Miller is known for playing clever, arrogant, corrupt and wealthy men. He was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to George and Arlene Miller. Doug's father is of Austrian ancestry, while his mother is of Finnish, French, Irish and Scottish ancestry. After high school, Doug was offered a wrestling scholarship at Simon Fraser University, and, during his first two years there, he competed in wrestling tournaments in both the USA and Canada. Later on, while completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, he auditioned successfully for the university's theatre program. After completing his acting studies he performed professionally in the theatre for several years, eventually gravitating towards roles in film and television, including a political handler in The Hidden Room (1993), a wealthy aristocrat in Forever Knight (1995), and a television news reporter in Kung Fu: The Legend Continues (1995).
