Paris Jefferson has won awards and accolades for roles ranging from Janis Joplin, to Athena in Xena, Princess Warrior, to the devil. In 2018 she won Best Actress in a Leading Role at the British Independent Film Festival (BIFF) for her role in Sunset Contract. Born in London, and raised in Australia, Paris returned to London to continue her acting career which took her all over the world. She went on to play such diverse roles as Anna Karenina ("mesmeric" The Guardian), Janis Joplin ("compelling", Time Out,UK) and Athena in Xena, Princess Warrior to name but a few. Her performance as Constance in The Constant Wife at the world renowned Gate Theatre was so successful that she was asked to reprise the role ten years later. It was one of the longest running productions in The Gate's history, and went on to headline at The Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina, one of America's major international performing arts festivals. Declan Burke of The Times went on to say that "Paris Jefferson's performance was a comic masterclass in timing and blithe indifference". Her screenplay Looking for Dez Cart was described by the award winning director, Fred Schepisi, as intriguing, surprising and touching.
